Medical Informatics

HiGHmed is a BMBF-funded medical informatics consortium working on novel, interoperable solutions in medical informatics with the aim to make medical patient data accessible for clinical research and education which will, in turn, improve patient care. Building safe data integration centres, the project aims to establish a technology enabling clinicians to reach data-based and patient-centric decisions. For maximum efficacy, the consortium combines know-how from nine university hospitals and medical faculties as well as academic and industrial partners. Finally, HiGHmed will demonstrate the efficient cross-site use of medical patient data in research and care on three prototypical clinical use case in the field of oncology, cardiology and infection control.
