SAGE

SAGESpatial Analysis of Gene Expression

Duration of the project: January 2021 - December 2024

The transcriptional heterogeneity of cancer cell ecosystems poses a therapeutic challenge as it influences growth, immune evasion, metastasis and drug response. Identical cell types can have tissue-specific expression patterns. Elucidating the link between spatial organisation and expression programmes of cells is particularly important for understanding cellular heterogeneity and the microenvironment in solid tumours. The aim of the project is to create an efficient, user-friendly and comprehensive analysis environment for in situ transcriptomics (IST) data that allows cell segmentation-free identification of mRNA localisation patterns in tumours.
